Your referral

Please provide an up-to-date referral from your general practitioner or specialist. This is a Medicare requirement for claiming your rebate.

On receipt of your referral a member of the administration team will be in contact to organise your first appointment.

What to expect at your initial appointment

Prior to your appointment you will be asked to fill out several questionnaires. We can send these out to you by email or post. In addition we will ask you to fill out information on Clinic to cloud, the software system the practice uses.

At your first appointment your specialist will expand on the information from your questionnaires, asking in-depth questions about your pain condition, as well finding out about any other medical conditions you have. Please bring along a current list of your medications, including dosages to each appointment. In addition, if you have scan reports that are relevant to your condition, please bring them to your consultation and they can then be added to your health record.

As part of your pain management, your pain specialist may suggest involving other healthcare providers in order to improve the efficacy of your treatment. These may include physiotherapists, hand therapists, exercise physiologists, psychologists and psychiatrists. By working closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team, your pain specialist can best tailor your treatment plan to your specific needs.
